New Year Bookish Resolutions

Happy New Year!!

Another year is upon us and I am ready to tackle it head on. This year I do plan on being more proactive with this blog. I felt a little overwhelmed last year when I started this. I felt like I had to post twice or maybe even three times a week and it got to the point where I was going insane thinking about what I wanted to put on here. This year I think I'll take on a different approach to book blogging. I still love the idea, and I do love to read so this is definitely something that I want to continue doing, but I need a routine. I need a definite timeline of when to post and how often. I still haven't been able to narrow those things down yet, but I know in time I will get there.

Last year I was able to complete my reading goal of 50 books.. I actually surpassed it but I didn't log it onto goodreads. Oh well. Anyway, I thought about pushing myself a little harder this year and I added 15 more books to my reading challenge for the year. Yes I am aiming to read 65 books this year!

I have seen so many books that are going to be released and I cannot wait to get my hands on some of them. Also I have bookshelves with loads of unread books (255 to be exact) and I want to tackle those as well.  To narrow things down here is my Bookish Reading Resolutions for the year

1. Reading Goal: I already mentioned that I added 65 more books to my reading goal this year, so I am looking to complete 65 books this year. I think I can do it, and even if I don't making the attempt is well worth it!

2. Reading Non-Fiction: I am not, wait let me repeat this I am NOT a reader of non-fiction. I mean outside of the daily newspaper and internet news I do not like reading non-fiction. I find it boring. As much as my mind likes to wander I believe that I will not be focused in reading a non-fiction text. I may have to look into some good ones for the year. My goal is to read 5 of them.

3. Classics: See, I have this love/hate thing with classic literature. I think that some of them are good (Anything Jane Austen is amazing) and then I really hate reading some of them. I remember being in college and having to read English lit and I wanted to strangle myself. Complete and utter BOREDOM! This year I do want to tackle some of the ones that I have never read. For example: 1984, Slaughterhouse Five, Fahrenheit 451 to name a few. I am not going to say that I will be reading tons and tons of classics but I am going to try my hardest.

4. New Adult and Adult Books: I am a lover of Young Adult lit. What can I say, I am a kid at heart. I can't help myself I just love YA. When I was younger I would read some adult lit, but I have always stuck to YA but in 2015 I am going to move towards reading more adult books. I mean I am almost in my mid 30's, why am I still reading just YA? I need to definitely expand my horizons when it comes to literature. This does not mean that I won't be reading YA, NO definitely NOT but I will also incorporate more adult literature.

5. BLOGGING: Though this resolution isn't technically a bookish resolution it does involve keeping my blog active with things that I have read, and things that I would like to read. I want to be more present in the book blogging world. I follow a lot of booktubers, and though I don't see myself making videos I do see myself writing on here about the books that I have read, and the books that I do like to read, and books that I am excited about reading.

These are all the things that I can think of for now. I know there will be more, but in the mean time I think this is enough.

I will be posting about books that I cannot wait to read.

Until then...
